Dosa in Vancouver – House of Dosa

A delicious and cheap restaurant in Vancouver

Looking to find a yummy and cheap restaurant in Vancouver? I suggest checking out House of Dosa for some delicious dosa’s, curries, and amazing prcies. If you haven’t had a dosa before it is a “is a type of pancake from the Indian subcontinent, made from a fermented batter. It is somewhat similar to a crepe in appearance. Its main ingredients are rice and black gram. Dosa is a typical part of the Southern Indian diet and popular all over the Indian subcontinent. Traditionally, dosa is served hot along with sambar, a stuffing of potatoes, and chutney.” [Wiki]. If you want a little tip from the author, I always get some papadum as well. It’s like a saltier tortilla cheap that is really big.

Here’s a look at the the menu of House of Dosa. I have listed the specials below, but the rest of the menu items are in the link.

A simple place to find cheap food

House of Dosa isn’t the most glamorous place in Vancouver. It probably isn’t even the best dosa in Vancouver. But it makes for a great option for a student looking to save money. I often see families there too. This is a little gem of a restaurant and has been one of my favorites for a while. I keep it simple and get the dosa here, except the couple of times I got curry. So I can’t speak much about their other options and specials. Consider this more of a once a week kind of place, when you’re looking for a cheap restaurant in town. You may even run into me on a monday night, when they have their $5.99 dosa day.

Here is more information on House of Dosa including location, buisness hours, and website.
